Area details
All kinds of shops, restaurants and equipped lidoes are at a short distance, along the rugged coast of Fontane Bianche. Hibiscus can be the perfect home-base for several interesting excursions. Syracuse is the most obvious, with its mix of monuments from different ages - from Greek and Roman times to 17th and 18th century Baroque. Noto is easily reachable as well, and the visit to this baroque jewel - a real "stone garden" as it was rightly named - is absolutely unmissable, since its historical centre is one of Unesco's World Heritage Sites. If you feel like driving a little more, we suggest you a trip to Ragusa Ibla, with its distinctive terraced morphology and the majesty of its monuments. If you fancy a naturalistic excursion, Vendicari Nature Reserve is the right place, with its sandy dunes, clear turquoise waters and characteristic fauna. Close to Hibiscus is also Plemmirio Marine Protected Area, where you can enjoy scuba divings with local guides.
