As the hydrofoil leaves Trapani harbour on its way to Favignana, an impressive Erice Mountain still dominates the scene in the distance, serving as perfect background while an intense turquoise sea and a clear blue sky show up lively against it. Shortly after departure, Favignana jagged coastline comes into view with picturesque sea caves, evocative hidden grottos as well as spectacular tufa stone quarrying tunnels to discover and explore from end to end. Often referred to as “The Butterfly” by reason of its shape, Favignana features an extensively flat land with few low hills, just perfect to cycle through. Casa Chiara is just a few quick steps distant from the sea, overlooking a beautiful grove of trees. As you pass through its gate, a stone path leads you to a covered patio furnished with wicker armchairs,an ideal corner to relax reading a book and enjoying an alfresco aperitif watching a lush front grove. A beautiful azure French window welcomes you inside a bright living area furbished with a stylish glass table and chairs and adorned with graceful white furniture and beautiful cerulean tiles on the floor. Opposite, a comfortable sitting area with an open-fireplace and a comfortable bench overlooks the outdoor patio through another luminous French window. Close to the living area, are a full-furnished lovely kitchenette and a spacious bathroom with shower. Access to the sleeping quarter is through a corridor on the right leading to a cuddly twin bedroom furnished with a bunk bed overlooking the pool area, another twin bedroom with a spacious door sliding wardrobe and a beautiful double bedroom with a four-poster bed and a French window overlooking Favignana marvellous golden hills. The sleeping quarter is supplied by an ample bathroom with shower set across all bedrooms.
Outside in the backyard, a wonderful veranda furbished with a stylish wooden table, chairs and wicker armchairs, dominates a stunning pool area well equipped with comfortable deckchairs. The pool has something in store for you: you can change pool light colours using a remote control and create different amazing atmospheres every time. Relax poolside under a cosy gazebo or enjoy grilling delicious Sicilian Salsiccia sausages on the barbecue set close to the villa.
Besides, a comfortable pantry room is available on the back, as well as an upstairs terrace with striking views of the sea.
Area details
Casa Chiara is located in Punta Sottile, on the West side of Favignana – the largest of the Aegadian Islands. Favignana is particularly recommended to scuba divers, who will certainly enjoy the great profusion of flora and fauna below the surface as well as exploring ancient Punic war shipwrecks lying on the seabed. Favignana boasts plenty of beaches, like a broad sandy beach called Lido Burrone or a small sandy bay called Cala Azzurra, while Cala Rossa and Cala del Bue Marino are rocky bays with picturesque caves sliding gently to the sea.
Favignana can be easily reached from Trapani by hydrofoil. Once there, a regular ferry or hydrofoil service connects to Levanzo, Marettimo, Marsala, Trapani, Ustica and Naples.
