Overview
"Seen therefore, from far away, and from so high, Scicli was what is said La Sicilia". In few significant words, Pier Paolo Pasolini perfectly sums up the unique essence of Scicli, a marvellous baroque city spreading across Unesco world heritage Noto Valley. Everywhere you look, amazing carved-stone figures decorate opulent historical buildings and balconies while, on the other side, an incredible turquoise Mediterranean Sea laps endless white sandy beaches. Half a way between gem arts and sea resorts, Villa Coralli rises on a golden hill, set inside an elegant tourist residential area.
Property details
Coralli out-of-the-ordinary architecture intrigues you as soon as you set eyes on it. Stylish spires and extended domes finely delineate its blinding-white façade while touches of exoticism – combined with a delightful Mediterranean flavour – trim its amazing outline. No wonder such originality fits like a glow in this part of Sicily closer to Tunis than to Rome. A paved pathway leads to the villa sheltered patio amid lush lawns and lovingly tended flowers. Approaching the veranda, four pot-bellied golden columns invite you to sit down and relax on a sideward stone bench, lingering outside the front door a bit longer admiring a suggestive landscape. An amazing azure French window warmly welcomes you inside an ample bright living area with stylish white furnishings while comfortable orange sofas show up lively against the whiteness of the environment. Close to the living area is an ample finely furnished purple-tinted double bedroom with a French window overlooking the beautiful garden all around the property. Just opposite, is a comfortable bathroom with shower and a twin bedroom (convertible into double) with en-suite bathroom with shower. Crossing the living area, a fully furnished kitchen with two French windows; one overlooks an outside sheltered kitchen with barbecue, stone table and benches, while the other one overlooks the villa front garden. Back inside, crossing the kitchen area is a cosy corridor leading to another sleeping quarter: a well-equipped red-tinted bathroom with shower is on the left, while on the right, is a twin bedroom (convertible into double) with en-suite bathroom with shower. Opposite, is an ample fully furnished double bedroom with French window overlooking the surrounding garden.
Outside, an amazing private pool area – equipped with wooden deckchairs, colourful sea umbrellas and outside shower – is just ideal to swim and relax in full privacy. Sea views giving on the amazing sandy beach of Sampieri are just the perfect background to enjoy romantic outdoor aperitifs watching burning sunsets on the sea.
Heating system and A/C is available in every property room. Two shuttle-buses leaving every ten minutes accompany guests to the close sandy beach of Sampieri. Supermarket, bar, Spa/Beauty Centre and tennis fields are at walking distance, set within the residential area.
Area details
Coralli is located in Sampieri, one of the most picturesque fishermen villages in South-eastern Sicily. Sampieri, part of the administrative division of Scicli in Ragusa, boasts an amazing beautiful shore, where the sand is as golden and as fine as the desert while the water gets deep very gradually. Sampieri lies within the Baroque town of Scicli and is also very close to other historical exciting cities like Modica, Ragusa, Noto and Syracuse. Beautiful nature reserves such as Cassibile and Vendicari are also very close. Don’t miss visiting the splendid Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina, a spectacular villa dating back to the Roman Imperial age with about 3500 square metres of precious mosaics, the most visited archaeological site in Italy after the Roman Forums. Worldwide famous Caltagirone tiles, ceramics and mosaics are a must see, along with its stunning 142-step monumental Staircase of Santa Maria del Monte, built in 1608 and set in the old part of the town.
