The town of Sciacca hosts an ancient thermal spa complex, named by Romans "Thermae Selinuntinae". Thermal baths exploit hot steam emissions coming from the natural caves of Mount San Calogero, hiding a 55 metres long "Stufa" (hot cave full of dense steam).
Situated near the mouth of Platani river, Eraclea Minoa is an enchanting village, being allegedly founded by Minos (IV century BC). Built on a rigorous symmetric road-network (designed by the famous Greek architect Ippodamo), it boasts a wide archaeological park and an ancient theatre (33m in diameter).

The great Akragas (ancient name of Agrigento) continues to attract streams of tourists, who visit the huge Archaeological Park and its Museum. It was founded in the VI century BC, and it preserves traces of its ancient glorious past in the worldwide renowned Valley of the Temples where you can admire a few magnificent temples named after the Greek gods: the Concordia temple, with it 38 columns, perfectly preserved in its simplicity, the temple of Juno, the temple of Zeus, with pediments supported by the so-called Telamoni, huge men-like statues, the temple of Heracles and the temple of the Dioscuri are splendid samples of Doric style buildings (VI and V centuries BC).

Gela , a further queen among the Greek towns, played a main role in the V century along with Syracuse and Agrigento. Besides the Archaeological Museum, the Temple of Athena ruins in the Acropolis and Capo Soprano defensive walls at tract many tourists.
