This newly-built villa near Mondello beach has all the mod-cons and comforts you could need with a fabulous pool and jacuzzi set up. Located in Mondello, a fun town close to many of north Sicily's top sights, Kalia is a great choice for an entertaining and lively holiday in Sicily.

Kalia is a stylish modern villa, full of contemporary furniture and chic neutral tones. With great facilities and clever design, you can easily enjoy a well-deserved break from it all in comfort and style.

Outside: With a large lawn, Kalia has ample outside space to enjoy your time under the Sicilian sun. The wonderful pool - surrounded by comfortable sun loungers - will certainly be a popular destination for all members of your party. Under the covered terrace you will find the luxurious jacuzzi - perfect for relaxation! This space also has an electric projector screen linked to Sky TV enabling you to enjoy a film night from the comfort of your own jacuzzi. At night the pool area becomes even more atmospheric with LED lighting that create a colourful and relaxing environment.
The outside area also has a lovely dining table, perfect for al fresco meals, and an outside sitting area that is ideal for relaxing with a book and maybe a glass of wine. Foodies can also enjoy cooking on the barbecue every evening!

Inside: Walk through the main door into Kalia's hallway, with staircases - embellished with atmospheric LED lights - going to the first and lower ground floor. To the right you will find the villa's spacious and bright sitting room, with a full length sliding glass door with direct access to the sitting area on the terrace and the garden. To the left of the hallway is the sleek dining room, with a small sofa which leads on to the modern kitchen, which is well-equipped for cooking up a Sicilian feast. The bright kitchen has a French window that leads right out to the jacuzzi area and swimming pool. There is also a guest bathroom on this floor.

The first floor's master bedroom has a contemporary-style four poster bed, a dressing room and a balcony. The en suite bathroom has a hydro-massage bath and shower. The second double bedroom on the first floor is airy and bright and has access to a terrace that looks over the swimming pool. This bedroom has its own bathroom with a shower.

Kalia's lower ground floor is home to a further two double bedrooms. However, it should be noted that neither bedrooms have views. The lower ground floor also has two bathrooms, both with showers as well as a games room, with a pool table, table football and arcade games.

Local Sights

Kalia is found in Mondello, a buzzing beach town just outside of Palermo. Mondello has plenty of restaurants, bars and shops, as well as a great beach that is extremely popular with the locals. Mondello is also perfectly situated to see many of north Sicily's wonderful sights.

You could not ask for a better position to explore the Arab-Norman treasures of Palermo, Monreale and Cefalù. Kalia is perfectly placed to visit these three towns with their fascinating monuments.

Visit Palermo for a real taste of vibrant city. The island's capital has plenty to see, do and eat. With its compelling history, beautiful architecture and buzzing markets and food scene, a day in Palermo is a day well spent. Don't miss the cathedral, the Palazzo dei Normanni and the exceptional Cappella Palatina!

Take a trip to Monreale, a nearby hill-top town to see its world famous cathedral. The cathedral boasts some of the best mosaics in the world: intricate and incredibly beautiful, these mosaics are a truly superb example of art from the Middle Ages. After seeing the cathedral take a stroll through the evocative streets, enjoy an espresso in one of the many charming bars and gaze out over the valley below. Cefalù should not be overlooked. Its cathedral is stunning and the town centre and beach make the town a fun and picturesque place to visit.

For a taste of Sicily's ancient past, make your way to Segesta where you will find a gorgeous Doric temple in a fabulous countryside setting. There is also the remains of a Greek theatre, with wonderful views across the rolling Sicilian hills. These ruins have a particularly wonderful atmosphere and should not be missed by those with a passion for ancient history.

Erice is a magical hill-top town that over looks Trapani. Wander through its picturesque streets and you could imagine yourself in a fairytale. With winding streets, fantastic views over Trapani, the salt pans and the Aegadian Islands, as well as beautiful churches and fantastic almond pastries, Erice is a great destination for a day trip.

Why not stop off for a day by the sea at San Vito Lo Capo or the utterly gorgeous Lo Zingaro Nature Reserve full of its unspoilt bays and pristine waters. Visit Castellammare del Golfo on the way home and watch the locals on their nightly passeggiata along the harbour.

Local Experiences

Why not rent a boat and spend an enjoyable day out on the water. Boat hire, or excursions are available in Mondello. Explore north Sicily's fantastic coast, enjoy a spot of snorkelling or just relax with a carefree day on the sea. You could also take part in some water sports at Mondello beach, such as paddle boarding or windsurfing.

Spend a fun and relaxing evening at home with a local chef cooking for you. Book a Cook and take a night off from cooking. Using fresh, local ingredients and providing a traditional Sicilian menu, you can get a real taste of Sicily in the comfort of your own villa. If you would like to learn more about Sicilian food culture then we can also help organise a tour of Palermo's atmospheric food markets or treat yourself to a Street Food Tour.

Wine-lovers should head west towards Marsala and take a tour of one of the fabulous wineries in the area, such as Donnafugata. You will be able to see the cellars, visit the vines and, of course, taste some of the famous wine.

If adventure and outdoor living is more your style then north Sicily has plenty to offer. The Madonie Mountains, found to the east of Palermo are a great place to spend your days hiking, and taking in the beautiful scenery and fantastic variety of flora and fauna. The Capo Gallo Nature Reserve is also a wonderful spot to delight in Sicily's outstanding beauty.

The pool is open to guests from 5th May to 27th October.
