World Festival on the Beach - Mondello

The successful formula of the World Festival on the Beach, consists of great sport and “constantly surprising” live music events. The festival is held in the enchanting gulf of Mondello in the “Conca d’Oro” of Palermo (synthesis of the whole island) in May and it entices a large number of passionate sporty people and tourists from all around the world. It is a further opportunity to visit Sicily and its splendid capital and to enjoy warm summer weather even before summer.

For more than a decade the World Festival on the Beach of Albaria Club has been organized by the City of Palermo and a historic pool of private citizens constantly succeeding in blending the long-time traditional program, which has leaded the events to the peaks of the world fame, with a continual innovation.
The result is that the World Festival on the Beach has been listed by the Regione Siciliana Assessorato al Turismo (the Tourism Council of the Sicilian Region) in the official calendar of the main tourist events of the island for five years running.

This sport and live music event immersed in a sea resort atmosphere has contributed to highlight the splendid heritage of the city, giving it a new identity and celebrating its sea, its beach and its people. Promoting all over the world the paradise beach and the enchanting gulf of Mondello was not the mission of the Albaria Club and of the World Festival on the Beach either. But as media has been focusing on the events since early editions, it was clear that the statute of the Club was to add new rules concerning with respect, safeguarding and promotion of the very essence of Sicily.

Over the years statements of unconditioned love for the city have been pouring on the event, praising not only the wonderful tropical Mondello beach but also the whole island and its rich cultural heritage. What appears is the new image of Sicily, which asks only to be enjoyed.
