Farmers and businessmen driven by a passionate love for their territory promote high quality dairy produce and wine, you can even find a really characteristic chocolate, which revitalizes the ancient Maya tradition with the addition of top quality local ingredients. Property details
Rosa Rossa is a country aristocratic residence, recently restored and equipped with all modern comforts. The property is immersed in the extensive family game preserve, and is located a few kms away both from the gorgeous sandy beaches of southeastern coast and from the Sicilian Baroque jewels in this corner of our island.
The large swimming pool - surrounded by orange and lemon trees and a lovely prickly pears hedge - is located in the charming garden facing the covered house terrace, and is equipped with a pretty covered gazebo and a solarium. The terrace is comfortably furnished for your alfresco dinners or aperitifs. The estate can also boast an artificial lake and a tennis court (obviusly equipped with balls and rackets), both at guests' disposal.
The villa interiors develop on one floor, and consist of a spacious living/dining room with open plan kitchen, a parlour, a small kitchen, and a sleeping quarter with 4 cozy and comfortable double bedrooms and 2 twin bedrooms. All bedrooms have en-suite bathroom.
Area details
Rosa Rossa is located near Santa Croce Camerina, a few kms from Ragusa. This area is mostly known for its long sandy beaches, especially Punta Secca where several scenes from the TV series dedicated to Andrea Camilleri's Commissario Montalbano have been shot. You can find splendid fully equipped beaches also in Marina di Ragusa, Marina di Modica and Donnalucata. From the villa you can reach the scenographic baroque towns in south-eastern Sicily, first of all Ragusa Ibla - laying in terraces on a series of rocky hills and rich in imposing religious building, noble mansions and beautiful squares. The historical centres of Scicli and Modica are likewise stunning. Modica is also known for its innovative chocolate production, prepared according to the ancient Maya tradition renewed with the addition of excellent local products. With longer drives you can reach Catania and Acireale - likewise rich in monuments of different ages - the Etna volcano and the Alcantara Gorges, to enjoy exciting naturalistic excursions. Finally, a few kms south, Syracuse is waiting for you with its impressive archaeological park and that splendid monumental jewel which is Ortigia isle.
