Property details
The property is located within a quiet and elegant residential area, and is surrounded by a lush well-tended garden with wide lawns, oaks, firs, magnolias and a magnificent specimen of broom more than 100 years-old. The private pool with solarium and the wide comfortable outdoor areas are at guests' exclusive disposal.
The interiors, tidy and well-kept, show ceilings with visible wooden beams, and are furnished in a sober classical syle. The living room develops around a large and cozy fireplace, and together with the pretty kitchen it overlooks an outdoor terrace. While sitting there, you can see wonderful cascades of whispering green leaves falling down. Here you can comfortably enjoy your alfresco meals, have fun with the barbecue, or relax with a nice chat or a card game. The bedrooms - a double and a twin - are cozy and spacious, and equipped with en-suite bathroom.
In the garden you'll find a separate dépendance hosting a double bedroom and a bathroom, and equipped with covered veranda and open-plan kitchen. If you wish, you can use this dépendance as changing room for the swimming pool.
Area details
Villa Vulcanella is located near Nicolosi, a lovely village 700m above sea level on the southern side of the Etna, a few kms away from Catania. Nicolosi is considered the "gate to the Etna", being the starting point for all guided excursions to the volcano craters. It also boasts very popular ski facilities and 20 kms of ski slopes, where you can have splendid downhills gazing at the extraordinary scenario of the snowy volcano with the blue Ionian Sea on the background. Among the several interesting villages of the Etna hinterland, we suggest you Bronte - with Admiral Horatio Nelson's beautiful castle - Randazzo - where people with 3 different religions and cultures used to live together - and Castiglione di Sicilia, where you can find an amazing 18-holes golf course. For a spectacular naturalistic excursion, we advise you the Alcantara Gorges and their astonishing canyons. We also warmly suggest you a visit to Catania and Acireale, in whose historical centres you can see splendid baroque monuments. Finally, you cannot leave Sicily without a trip to the unmissable Taormina, famous for its Greek-Roman remains, monuments of different ages, gorgeous views on the Etna and the Ionian Sea, and innumerable cultural events all the year round.
Additional Information
If you wish, you can plan a nice ping-pong tournament with your travelmates, or have fun in the villa bowling green.
The swimming pool is open to guests from 10th April to 9th October.
