Duchessina is a pretty apartment located in Taormina centre, just 200m away from Corso Umberto. You reach the main entrance walking through a characteristic lane and climbing a long staircase - typical elements of Taormina urban layout on the slopes of Mount Tauro. The apartment has been totally renewed and well subdivided, and shows rustic-style floors and furniture, and lively coloured curtains, sofas and bed linen.
The interiors consist of a spacious dining/living room - equipped with satelllite TV, stereo and DVD player - a pretty and bright open-plan kitchen, and 2 cozy and quiet double bedrooms, sharing a bathroom with shower. The apartment also has a small balcony, overlooking Taormina's roofs and a stretch of the Ionian coast. How nice waking up in the morning and enjoy the view of this picturesque corner while having a fragrant croissant and coffee or savouring a tasty water-ice and a warm brioche - the typical Sicilian breakfast in this part of Sicily.

You'll surely spend most of your time exploring Taormina. But when you want to turn your eyes somewhere else, you'll find so much to explore in its surroundings! First of all Castelmola - the small village more uphill where you can buy tasty local products - and Giardini Naxos, Mazzarò and the Isola Bella on the coast, where you will enjoy a comfortable and vivacious beach life, especially in the summer. And how can you resist the beauty of the Etna, with its amazing volcanic landscapes, the green slopes crowded with pretty villages to discover? Nicolosi is the so called "gate to the Etna": all guided excursions to the volcano craters and top start here, where you can also find skiing facilities and slopes very popular during the winter season. In Bronte you can visit the beautiful Admiral Nelson's Castle. Unmissable are also Randazzo - historically interesting town where people with 3 different religions and cultures lived together in the past - and Castiglione di Sicilia - where you can find a splendid 18-holes golf course. As a spectacular naturalistic excursion we advise you the Alcantara Gorges, with their impressive canyons. Finally, if you fancy a more cultural trip, we suggest you Catania and Acireale, with their splendid baroque monuments.
