Overview

If you're looking for a romantic and peaceful spot to spend an unforgettable honeymoon or an intimate romantic break, Badia Tower is quite the right place for you. The property consists of Badia Estate crenellated Tower, a charming dépendance immersed in the wonderful garden of this exclusive aristocratic residence, only 2kms away from Marsala town centre and at a short distance from innumerable interesting places of Western and Central Sicily. Badia Tower is just the intimate and quiet spot you were looking for, and in its lovely interiors you can begin experimenting the joys of living together with your partner, or escape for some time from the usual routine and the noise of the places where you usually live, to recover a new complicity, the intimacy and tenderness maybe you had long forgot.

Property details

You'll get to Badia Tower after following a path bordered with multicoloured oleanders leading to the main house and crossing a huge garden. There, immersed in the vegetation, you'll find the fairy Badia Tower, the 16th century crenellated tower belonging to Badia Estate of which it is a dépendance. The property consists in a dining/living room equipped with open-plan kitchen, a lovely and intimate alcove with double bed, a bathroom and - outside - a wide terrace/solarium equipped with barbecue, for your alfresco romantic dinners or apertifis.

Area details

Badia Tower is only 2 kms away from Marsala historical centre. The area is well known for its thick vegetation and quiet position, and it's only 300m away from the Strada Statale 115 Trapani-Marsala, therefore it's very easy to reach the historical centre walking or by bus. At a few hundred yards' distance, you can find tennis courts, shops, bars and restaurants. Marsala - with its monuments of different times - from the Phoenicians and Romans times up to the Middle Age, the Renaissance and Baroque times - surely deserves a trip, to complete with a visit to one of the innumerable wineries producing the renowned homonymous wine, and to a good fresh fish restaurant. From here you can easily reach a few of the most interesting locations of Western and Central Sicily: Trapani, Selinunte and the Greek Temple and Theatre in ancient Segesta. If you wish to visit a really unique place, the lovely medieval town of Erice is easily reachable as well, with its charming views on the surrounding territory. If you want to remember a few magnificent Mediterranean scenarios, we warmly suggest you a ferry boat or hydrofoil excursion to the Aegadian Islands, where the shores are almost intact, and the innumerable hidden bays can still amaze those venturing to discover them.

Additional Information

Access to the main house will be allowed only to guests booking the whole property, but the owner will be glad to have an aperitif also with guests booking only Badia Tower and/or the Foresteria di Badia.

Feedback from clients staying at Badia Tower

  • Anna Coscia | September 2011

Tutto perfetto quindi.

  • Grazyna & Howard Pilatowicz | July 2011

Thank you very much for your help in making our vacation so enjoyable! The SoloSicily service was perfect: easy to navigate website that provided all of the information necessary to make a decision; quick and to the point responses to any questions that we had; good guidance through the process; excellent information navigating us to the rented place and about Sicily; appropriate representation of the property. (...) About Badia Tower and our stay in western part of Sicily: From the beginning till the very end it was a great experience! We immediately felt welcomed and we truly appreciated thoughtfully provided in the kitchen basic snacks and drinks, so we could relax after "red-eye" trip from New York. The Badia Tower is a clean and comfortable place for two, surrounded by exotic, beautiful garden, with private outdoor space under canopy of luscious bougainvillea, and with morning wake up call from chorus of birds. (...) Within more or less 1 hr drive we had amazing richness of places to visit. Some of the most appreciated by us were beautiful towns of Marsala, Mazara del Vallo, Salemi, and Castellmmare del Golfo. Trapani has beautiful old town, and Erice can easily compete with San Gimignano in Tuscany. There are ruins of ancient towns and doric temples, remains of Norman castles, romanesque and gothic churches, and beautiful beaches... We loved the amazing nature reserve Zingaro with hiking trails and pristine stone beaches in small coves. And people: warm and friendly, patient and helpful... And food: fresh fish backed in salt, couscous with seafood, arancini... And wine: grillo...

  • Martin & Ann Dace | October 2009

Excellent holiday. Mr Sala (property owner) was there to meet us and later gave us drinks and showed us around and left us to ourselves in this charming retreat the rest of the time.

  • David Thomson | September 2009

Badia Tower was superb. The hosts were very helpful and we enjoyed our stay immensely. We will certainly be going back at some point in the future. Thanks for all your help... now I need to start learning Italian!

  • Nick Graham | August 2009

The Badia Tower was absolutely superb thanks - perfect for our honeymoon. The owners gave us lots of space, but were very welcoming as well. We really enjoyed seeing that part of Sicily also.

  • Ron and Claire Parnell | May 2009

We returned home this afternoon after a very enjoyable stay at Badia Tower. Thank you very much for your services - which were excellent!

  • Adrian & Ana & little Marius (our unborn son) | July 2008

We had the most amazing time in Sicily and the Badia Tower was a great deal of this amazingness. Mr. Michele (property owner) is a very nice, helpful man. He helped us planning our visits with information wich we greatly appreaciated, given the fact that it was very dificult to visit everything in such a short time. Thanks to him we have seen the best of Western Sicily. The small surprises that he had for us were really nice. We loved them. The inhouse made marmelade is great. The garden is great and the Badia tower is very romantic. Nothing but the best. We had a great time.
