Overview

This is the ultimate romantic escape, a pretty romantic tower for two in the midst of scented gardens filled with leafy vegetation, towering palms and brightly-coloured oleanders. Shops, bars and restaurants are nearby and the centre of Marsala, with its famous wineries, just 2 kms away.

Property details

The Badia Tower comes close to resembling a child’s drawing of a fairy tale castle, with arched windows and a crenellated tower but in the place of forbidding forests, the fragrant Mediterranean gardens of the Badia Estate. The owners of this extraordinary estate live in the main house and have always been delightfully welcoming to all their guests.

Outside: An oleander-bordered pathway leads across the huge gardens to the Tower. At the back of the Tower, there is a lovely private terraced area, with a table and chairs, parasol, barbecue and separate seating area, which is perfect for al fresco meals or simply sitting and soaking up the atmosphere.

Inside: The décor is simple and bright, with white-washed walls, terracotta tiling and pretty blue furnishings. The living space comprises of one main living area, with a small dining-table and chairs and a kitchen corner. From here, steps lead up to the bedroom and bathroom with shower.

Area details

The Badia Tower is in a wonderfully peaceful location, in an area renowned for its lush vegetation and tranquillity, but very convenient for getting around. Shops, bars, restaurants and tennis courts are around 300 metres away and getting to the historical centre of Marsala on foot or by bus is easy as the main Trapani-Marsala road is close by. It is definitely worth taking a tour of the wineries and Marsala’s pedestrian and largely Baroque old town is a pleasant place to visit, with plenty of interesting architectural sights and some excellent fish restaurants.

Reviews from clients staying at Badia Tower

  • Ed Birth - United Kingdom | September 2012

We have had a wonderful time in Badia Tower, huge thanks!
From our lovely welcoming basket of goodies and stash of honey and marmalade to the lovely, interesting introduction to your house and its history – it has been a wonderful experience!
We have particularly enjoyed experimenting with the barbecue, something that our house in London cannot allow – successes with the delightful orate and merluzzi, less so with the veal!
We strongly recommend a visit to the Marsala Lion Market – so much choice!
Overall, very much enjoyed ourselves and we thank you for your kind hospitality.

  • Julia Marinescu - Romania | September 2012

We had a wonderful holiday here in Marsala, Sicily!
Loved the colors of the island, the spices, aromas and the music.
We were impressed by the huge, wonderful garden of the property Badia, and the Tower of Love offered a comfortable and romantic accommodation.
We hope to return soon here and, until then, we'll definitely recommend the property to our friends who are eager to visit this amazing island.
    Thank you for your hospitality.

  • Elen Lewis Paynter - United Kingdom | August 2012

We have had the most fantastic holiday at Badia Tower. You have thought of everything and made us feel most welcome. We have loved everything about being here, including the garden, the house and especially your hospitality. We have also loved the area – the towns, food, swimming and things to see. Our highlights have been Erice and Segesta and all the meals we've eaten.
Thank you again, we won't forget you.

  • Frances Adam - United Kingdom | April 2012

We have had a wonderful stay in our delightful tower! Thank you for your warm welcome and for showing us your magnificent ancestral home. The gardens are truly lovely with so many herbs and flowers (not to mention the lemons and the marmalade!)
    Thank you again

  • Alan & Kathryn Morton - United Kingdom | April 2012

we very much enjoyed our holiday at Badia Tower in Marsala, and explored much of the west of the island, including Favignana and Mozia islands. Excellent hospitality, wonderful food and fine local wines. Also the weather was fantastic!
We shall certainly visit your website again.
The brochure you sent us was also very informative, and reflects the high standards set by your company. We cannot think of any improvement (apart from a direct flight to the island from Scotland!)

  • Anna Coscia - Italy | September 2011

Tutto perfetto quindi.

  • Grazyna & Howard Pilatowicz - United States | July 2011

Thank you very much for your help in making our vacation so enjoyable! The SoloSicily service was perfect: easy to navigate website that provided all of the information necessary to make a decision; quick and to the point responses to any questions that we had; good guidance through the process; excellent information navigating us to the rented place and about Sicily; appropriate representation of the property. (...) About Badia Tower and our stay in western part of Sicily: From the beginning till the very end it was a great experience! We immediately felt welcomed and we truly appreciated thoughtfully provided in the kitchen basic snacks and drinks, so we could relax after "red-eye" trip from New York. The Badia Tower is a clean and comfortable place for two, surrounded by exotic, beautiful garden, with private outdoor space under canopy of luscious bougainvillea, and with morning wake up call from chorus of birds. (...) Within more or less 1 hr drive we had amazing richness of places to visit. Some of the most appreciated by us were beautiful towns of Marsala, Mazara del Vallo, Salemi, and Castellmmare del Golfo. Trapani has beautiful old town, and Erice can easily compete with San Gimignano in Tuscany. There are ruins of ancient towns and doric temples, remains of Norman castles, romanesque and gothic churches, and beautiful beaches... We loved the amazing nature reserve Zingaro with hiking trails and pristine stone beaches in small coves. And people: warm and friendly, patient and helpful... And food: fresh fish backed in salt, couscous with seafood, arancini... And wine: grillo...
